on July 3, 2026, celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
The Idyllwild 100 event was held to commemorate 100 years of the Tweedt Family home in Idyllwild.
The land was purchased in January of 1926, with the original house built by George E. Tweedt completed just in time for the July 4th weekend, 1926, on America’s 150th birthday. This milestone was celebrated at the 2nd home on the same property dubbed ‘Glowing Lantern’ in July 2026 for America’s 250th.
This page contains photos and videos from the Idyllwild 100 Event.
You can also watch/rewatch Chris Perrault’s “The History of Idyllwild” presentation and
architect Dennis McGuire’s “Architecture of Glowing Lantern” presentation.
Near the bottom of this page, you’ll find the Schedule of Events, the original event Promo Trailer
that was sent with the Evite, and the two “National Parks-style” logos, one which was used on the SWAG t-shirt.
