This is the complete video archive of the “BigFoot” videos, shot on the Tweedt family property. That’s right, all your favorite “BigFoot” moments on-demand. What a world.
It’s unclear WHY it started, but the legend of BigFoot at BBSR was born sometime in the late 1988. Armed with a Video-8 camcorder, Brian Tweedt ran around the property grunting, snorting, eating, and destroying everything in his path as the legendary BigFoot in these first-person… er… make that first-animal?… First-person/animal? videos.
But now for the hard-hitting questions that are on everyone’s mind… Does BigFoot still roam around the Idyllwild woods? Will there be more BigFoot videos in the future? Will Brian ever catch his breath? We are not sure. But until then, be aware. Be very aware.
Note: All BigFoot videos will be posted soon — this page is still under construction.
BigFoot 1
In this first episode, BigFoot senses Ron Wallace, and chases him as he sleds away. Not too complex compared to later episodes, but Brian & Ron create the blueprint for future BigFoot videos.
BigFoot 2
This video starts off a bit slow as BigFoot stalks his prey from a distance. But the action gets going around 1:18, leading to a sledding chase downhill. Eric gets run over, but BigFoot decides “He’s Ugly” and leaves him writhing in pain. BigFoot then follows Heidi, whose hiding spot proves not to be too hidden. Although her fate is ultimately unclear, it doesn’t look good.
BigFoot 3
In this episode, after a solid chase, the resort sledders finally get revenge and after a brief (but well choreographed) frenzy, knocking down BigFoot with a baseball bat. Ouch.
BigFoot 4
If this was a “Friends” episode, this would be titled “The one that starts inside.” We open with BigFoot who has just caused havoc inside El JAMAR. He then heads outside where he chases sledders Eric & Melinda, including a miraculously revived Heidi Tweedt (I think she was supposed to be a different character in the story). The second Heidi then steals Eric’s sled to get away, leaving no doubt that Eric is trouble, punctuated by Eric’s final “Uh oh!” to end the episode.
BigFoot 5
The neighbors. Need I say more?
Okay, I will. This one starts off with Melinda Maddison and Lindsay Gibson being surprised by BigFoot as he emerges from the forrest. As they run, Whitney Gibson, for some reason standing alone in the woods, joins in. They run by the neighbors who hilariously panic… But BigFoot stops just long enough to notice their utter fear, and moves on, laughing. Why? Well, because it’s hilarious. At this point we see Eric Bowman, who was reading a book on top of the wood shed, throws said book and runs away. BigFoot chases Eric until he is unwittingly hit in the face by a tree branch, ending the episode.
BigFoot 6
This is one of the shortest videos that was shot on the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail a few miles from the home. Let’s just say the ending is abrupt… I think Brian may have gotten in trouble for scaring other hikers.
BigFoot 7
This BigFoot is a bit simple.
BigFoot 8
Roaming through the snow, BigFoot finds Lindsay Gibson and gives chase until he meets Whitney and Heidi who dive down the hill in their trash bags. Just as BigFoot is about to catch up, he trips. Whitney laughs, but after a scary growl, she knows what’s best and runs.
BigFoot 9
Having terrorized upstairs at “Warming Hut I” aka EL JAMAR, BigFoot heads downstairs where he finds Lindsay running out of the bathroom. He encounters an aggressive Terry who shoes him outside into the dark. He passes Carol, and Heidi and Whitney, standing outside, make a run for it. It gets a bit too dark to see well, but he then chases the girls down the stairs, and to the left toward the neighbor’s cabin in the driveway.
I’m not certain what the ending was supposed to be. Because, unfortunately, Lindsay slips on some leaves/needles and falls, landing on her chin. Like for real, not as in “scripted” falls down. You can hear Whitney scream “her chin!” As there were no take two’s in BigFoot filming, this is, sadly, how the episode ends, and will live forever. Yes, real crying. Sorry Lindsay!
