Building History: The Story of the Tweedt Family Home in Idyllwild, California
This is the documentary on the house and its origins. It begins with a brief history of the Tweedt Family’s roots in Idyllwild, and leads to the decision to hire architect Dennis McGuire, the replacement of the original cabin, nicknamed EL JAMAR, and the construction of the new home, now known as “Glowing Lantern.” The house is shown in all of its glory, with insights from Terry and Carol Tweedt, as well as the architect, Dennis McGuire.
The documentary was recognized with a Telly Award in the “Film/Video — Non-Broadcast Productions – History/Biography” category in 2015.

This film premiered at the Idyllwild Rustic Theater on Saturday, October 11, 2014, as a surprise for Terry Tweedt’s 70th birthday. Unbeknownst to him, many friends and family drove to Idyllwild, and were waiting for him in the lobby of the theater as a surprise to help give him a memorable birthday.
